BARBECUED SPARE RIBS
really easy to make
They are excellent as a snack or a meals.
Serves 2
- 500g (1 lb) pork spare ribs
- 2 tablespoons flour
For The Barbecue Sauce
- 1 tablespoon dark soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon tomato purée
- 2 tablespoons clear honey
- 2 garlic cloves, finely chopped
- 1 cm (½ inch) piece fresh ginger, peeled and grated
- juice of an orange
- 1 teaspoon English mustard
Method
- Place the flour, a little seasoning and the ribs together in a plastic bag. Shake the bag to coat the ribs.
- Mix together all the sauce ingredients.
- Shake any excess flour off the ribs, dip into the sauce and place on a foil lined grill pan.
- Place under a hot grill for about 30 minutes, turning and basting frequently with the remaining sauce until brown, shiny and cooked through. In the summer these ribs can be cooked on a barbecue.
